Homemade Apple Pie

What you will need:

2 pie crusts
1/2 cup butter
3 TBL flour
1/2 sugar
1/2 brown sugar
1/4 cup water
6-8 apples
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Preheat oven to 425 degrees

Begin by peeling all of the apples.

Then slice the apples into thin pieces.

Add 1/2 tsp cinnamon to the apples.
Toss the cinnamon to coat all of the apples.

In a small sauce pan melt the butter on medium heat.

Once the butter is melted add the flour.
This will form a paste.

Then add the sugar,
brown sugar,
and water.

Bring all of this to a boil.
Then turn to medium-low for 5 minutes.

Place all of the cinnamon apples in on of the pie crusts.

Use the other pie crust to cut into strips.

Use these strips to create a lattice work crust.

Lay 5-6 strips across the pie.

Fold 2-3 pieces back.

Place another piece down where the fold is.
Then unfold those pieces.

Now, fold back the pieces that are UNDER the middle strip.

Continue to do this until the whole pie is covered.

Trim the edge of the pie with a knife.

Use a fork to press down the edges so that they stay down.

Pour the mixture in the pan over the top of the entire pie.
Do this slowly as to not have it spill out.

Bake in over at 425 for 15 minutes.
Then turn the oven heat down to 359 degrees.
Bake at 350 fro 35-35 minutes.

Cut slices and enjoy!
